Welcome to…..
Hey P-dub addicts!!!
Okay, so I’ve been off with the pixies in terms of not being on the site. So here’s a bit of news that I’d like to share with you. I’ve been to the doctor’s for the umpteenth time, I’ve lost my makeup kit under all the piles of baby magazines I’ve gotten from ‘concerned’ friends, I can’t stand high heels (I know, I never would’ve EVER expected to say that), and I’m one step closer to being a man – now having to almost stand up to pee with a bloated tummy. Being pregnant isn’t the easiest part of life. I’m new to this and I know it’s only going to get worse – I mean harder. I’ve gotten a few emails from concerned viewers about the father. But, not to worry since everything’s working out very fine.
NOW.. BACK TO THE PAUL BUSINESS
So the interview’s going ahead and other future interviews I can try and grab hold of will be sorta delayed (you know, with all this pregnancy and stuff). But I will be posting more regularly. The down time has really helped with trying to overcome the large amounts of anxiety I get. By the way outta curiosity, can anyone recommend a really good, easy-to-make midnight snack??
Okay, so back to the Paul business. I’ve been talking with a few makeup artists that have worked at the Atlanta set of Vampire Diaries and I’ve created a few easy makeup tips that can be easily syncopated into one’s very own life. You don’t have to be Nina Dobrev to gain a sensational, gleaming face. By the way, for those interested, bikram yoga is the very thing that makes your body as slender and fit as hers.

In a culture that craves unique style and in an ever-changing fashion world, outfits just as these enhance the way the ordinary girl looks (okay so Nina’s not so ordinary). But the You’ve inspired Me fashion label keeps its ear to the streets, creating not only top fashion pieces but also unique wearable art. Each piece is carefully designed from scratch and made in Australia; pushing forward the trendy, laid-back nature of their fashion. Their latest range is aimed at beating standard fashion practices with innovation in cuts and sizes for all women, big and small (or even pregnant like yours truly).
Individuality gives you status, separating you from the drones that roam the streets. It’s amazing at the collection this wonderful Aussie label has to offer. And, it doesn’t cost the Earth to looks like a film star. Check out there website, You’ve Inspired Me here. So, with the outfit organised, how do you attain the Dobrev look? It’s a matter of scrolling down to check out the make-up section! (just tap the scroll part on your right).
I’m currently inactive on twitter, so if you guys have any questions, feel free to contact me on my email priya@paulwesleyfans.com !! See you soon.
Rockin’ out P-dubbers.

PREGGERS!~
warning: this post requires background music. I suggest the vid below. Alejandro works well, Erin.
I’ve been here on the site now and then. And when I decided once for all to organize something on the priyajk blog, the only attempt I made was to scribble “POST IT DAMMIT”. Why the long absence? Simple.I’m pregnant. Preggers all the way baby!
Well it’s not the lovely fairytale that writers in Ugly Betty or the wonderful (yet slightly pedantic, cigarette-hugging writers) of The Nanny would’ve put into one of their episodes. It’s a cliche to get pregnant. Funny thing is that I’m 21. I’m not the normal 26 or the extreme 14 ( I seriously can’t believe girls can go through that at such a young age nowadays) but, being 21, I’m still studying, doing my uni course while battling hours at the office. in 6 months time, the work day will be as splendiforously hectic. Forget Amy Winehouse – wait til you see Priya in labor. THAT has still yet to come. But it will. And never ever ever shall I be ever prepared for it.
Okay, enough of the bloggie-talk. I’ll be doing a few interviews over this wonderful Summer season (where I can walk butt naked in the comfort of my own house without turning the heating on). And that means that I’ll be looking for questions to ask them.
” Who is the next person you’re going to interview Priyya
?” Kaitlin, Australia.
Well Kaitlin, I’ll give you a clue. It’s somewhere along the words ‘vampire diaries.’
Tune in next week ( this sounds like one of those ab-king-pro eps) to find out how you can help me out and score yourself to be with me interviewing the special person.
Oh and I’ve included some ridunkulously wesleyfied vids for you to watch. Just watching Paul flex his muscles makes my uterus sweat.

There is always that element of surprise that powers the reader within. In terms of fashion, surprise is ‘so last season’. Surprise, an undeniably 8-lettered word synonymous to ‘astound’ and ‘provoke’, is the mere mortal’s way of describing an experience. Nothing is ever a surprise. When you think it is, you’re dead wrong, quite literally. The death of a loved one could come as a surprise, but then again, was it not the absurd theories and the philosophical endeavors by thinkers that highlighted that we are born, only to later die?
That was an excerpt from a badly-worded essay for a piece on fashion and its inspirations for designers alike. Sometimes I think I’m Anna Wintour. No – I don’t wind up to class wearing my sunglasses and have a skin color akin to that of a leprosy-sufferer.No no no my dearest tweethearts, I think I’m Anna Wintour because, sometimes, it’s better to think in the perspective of another person than yourself. It’s quite wordy – I do agree. But I guess there’s a point to it, right?
Okay, philosophies aside, I’d like to apologize for my MIA status throughout the past few weeks. Exams and the nightmares of assignments and work commitments sought to expel me from the wonderful world of twitter and wesley-addicts. Now that I’m having my paul-therapy while I’m sitting on my bed, scrolling through columns on google images of P-Dub himself, I marvel his sense of poise, ABs and delicious smile.
Because I am visiting Australia in a few weeks, I’ve included a wonderful article on the IT products for the Winter. Regardless of where you live, you can integrate such amazing ideas in trends to your unique and beautiful faces. Enjoy!
KEEP IT ON OR OFF? HOW TO WEAR WINTER’S FAIR FACE
Napoleon Perdis says blue is the ‘it’ color of Winter 2010. “Make-up is turning blue in the face, after seasons of bronze and green,”Perdis says. Scarlet lips are also rebounding in a big way with the traditional soft and warm color palette still having a strong influence over the frosty winter. Brooke Shields-style thick eyebrows are in – put them tweezers down girls – we’re going for the caveman look.
Try these products……
Eyes
1. L’Oreal Color Appeal trio pro in stay blue and stay ultraviolet
2. L’Oreal Extra Volume Collagene mascara
3. Clinique Color Surge eye shadow in stone violet
4. Clinique High Lengths mascara
Lips
1. L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Anti-Age Serum lipstick
2. Clinique High Impact lip color SPF 15 in after party
3. Estee Lauder limited edition Love Your Lips color either in ‘kissable lip gloss’ or ‘signature Hydra Lustre lipstick’ in pink kiss or pink crush (my personal favorite).
Face
1. L’Oreal Paris True Match roll-on foundation
2. Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess soft matte bronzer
3. MAC bronzing powder
4. YSL Teint Radiance
5. La Mer Radiant concealer and La Mer Treatment powder foundation
6. Mac powder blush
Nails
1. The Cassette Society for Bloom nail polish ( or I recommend MAC supplies as a substitute).
2. Napoleon Perdis Chandelier Shine in poolside
Try and even the natural contours of the face and don’t pile too much (big big mistake). Give these products a try and you really shouldn’t go wrong. Also, scroll down further for my article on achieving the Katerina Graham-look. For fragrances, anything soft and lingering perfumes of the Chanel variety are good. But if you’re a little more fancy, shope around with Balenciaga ( whom I recently purchased a mighty impressive pair of heels from). Happy winter for the southern -hemisphere-audience of paulwesleyfans.com and I hope this helps!!
Keep sending the love on twitter. If you have a fashion-based question or things about Paul and the Vampire Diaries cast, send me a question on formspring or email me to priya@paulwesleyfans.com

I love it when I get fan mail! It’s really cool and I love what I’m doing and I wish I could get more and I wish I could have a boyfriend, a lover, a knight in shining armour, have multiple babies and raise children and have the perfect job………….. what would I be?

Apart from being Angelina Jolie or any of the Hollywood queens that have graced their way to the hearts of magazine enteprises and worlwide television screens since their birth in the late 40s, the convention of being the ‘superstar’ mom has influenced the women of today, including yours truly. I’m 21 so, technically, I’m a baby – a smart one too. I can’t really speak for the women of the world but I can speak for myself when I say that managing a hectic lifestyle of essays, work, shopping, cooking, more shopping and trying to pull off nice outfits everyday no matter where you are is the epitome of success. Women in the office I work at bitch about ‘oh my gosh that girl’s wearing that hideous outfit AGAIN’… It’s a bitch eat bitch world and I hate it. Trying to keep up with the workplace romance is even worse. Recently a new co-worker, an Argentinian to be exact, began to court me in the workplace. He started with the funny and embarrassing stuff with a rose on my desk or the next-off-the-line gucci bag or even a message on my phone (most of them being slightly inappropriate, but I won’t go in to detail there). Since then, he got promoted and guess who became his personal assistant/secretary? Yours truly. I knew that having a romance with my boss is like off-limits, so I became pragmatic-miss-jayatillake and told him that we’d be best not being together. BIG MISTAKE. These are the things he did to me:
- He began to give me a huge workload
- I had to make a particular coffee for him or he’d pour it down the drain
- He gave me 14 assignments due in one week
- He didn’t allow me to attend meetings
- For lunch, he wanted salads with organic (organic? I know) dressings with French onion and baked potatoes from Ireland (Ireland? I know)
- Shine his shoes if they were dirty
- Buy lunch for 100 people
- and worst of all HE COMPARED ME TO HIS MOTHER. ( I KNOW?)
… and this is what a workplace romance is supposed to turn out? Well, today I was thinking of writing a post about the cliches of television and how Vampire Diaries seems to have escaped them with the whisk of a pencil by the excellent writers, Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec. Well, like I do with all the essays I write, I’ve gone off-topic and now have decided to write about how workplace romances are OFF-LIMITS. Enjoy!
NO SEX ON THE FREAKING DESK
Ever found yourself exchanging flirty glances over the water-cooler with a colleague? Signing off your emails to each other with a cheeky “xo” on the end? Sneaking out to coffee breaks together?
The office – you spend most of your waking life there. We Americans seem to spend eons confined to these desks and telephones with free internet and the butting noise of your bosses and superiors, working hard for them so that you can remain employed and not unemployed like a large amount of the nation itself. Couple that huge chunk of life energy with the mere exposure effect, and bam, you have chemistry.
Was it love at first sight in a strategy meeting? Or did the attraction grow slowly with each trip to the photocopier? ( I’m a sore loser for that one). In most cases, it’s the latter – thanks largely to the mere exposure effect. It’s a well-recognized psychological phenomenon, whereby the more time you spend with a person the more attracted you feel to them – and they to you – simply by virtue of being around each other so frequently.
So what better place to find a potential partner than the office? True, once upon a time organizations frowned on office romances. These days, though, companies have to be more adaptable to cope with the number of relationships blossoming under their noses. In fact, most workplaces won’t frown too heavily on employees dating, but if you are thinking about knocking socks with a cutie two cubicles over, there are a few things to consider.
- Be sure of what you want. The last thing you think of when starting up a hot new romance is how it’s going to end, but being frivolous with a co-worker’s emotions or going on dates with someone you’re not sure you like with them is like playing with fire. No matter what happens, you’re still going to have to face them on Monday morning.
- YOUR BOSS IS OFF LIMITS. Trust me, I’ve been there and it is the QUICKEST way of ensuring unemployment when things hit rock-bottom. It’s just not a good idea to get involved with anyone directly responsible for managing you and your role. That’s when the lines between work and the private life get blurry. Plus you’ll continually be the butt of office gossip as all your co-workers dissect how you’re getting “preferential treatment”
- No funny business at work. That includes hugs, hand-holding, kisses and butt-pinches. Absolutely not appropriate for the workplace, even if everyone knows you’re an item. Also, tempting as it might be, no sex on the desk.
Are you dating a colleague? I’d love to hear about it. You can find me on my twitter or send me an email to pjayatillake@hotmail.com

Okay so now I’m totally awake in the middle of the morning (2:52 am to be exact). The parents are in the room next door, their light snoring bringing some relief to me. They’ve had an amazing time with me. I took them up to San Francisco late Thursday night (right after the Vampire Diaries) and we stayed at a motel. We said ‘hello’ to the Golden Gate Bridge and dined in elegance amongst the gardens and drove back. Today we stopped over at Long Beach and drove all the way back home to the lovely and unpredictable Los Angeles. The stars are glistening in a whisper-quiet night. Yet my eyes refuse to close. They’re an arrogant set of eyes, I must admit. So here I am now, typing on my computer, haha.
We’ve welcomed our new and lovely Erin Brown to the paulwesleyfans.com team. She’s a darling and a sweet, honest, and compassionate girl who loves the Vampire Diaries and P-Dub himself. Exploring through this site, I can see the blogtalk radio stuff and the Vampire Chronicles ( which is really really good. You should listen to it ), the amazing posts and equally amazing videos plus the wonderful artwork that has sculpted this site’s fame and fortune.
I’ve included some cool vids on Paul as well. Kylie Minogue’s Wow song is a good song to get listening to ( it’s one of those play-it-out-loud-and-dance songs). So Enjoy!

Hey there P-dubbers and tweethearts!
Welcome to another installment of PRIYAJK which is me! This week has been one of tribulation and conquest. I’ve explored through the domains of my office, cleaned every nook and cranny of my godforsaken cellar and cleaned the car so well that the smell of ‘lemon fresh’ will guarantee the long-lasting smell the package had described. I’ve turned through pages of Pride and Prejudice ( don’t judge me. I’m an Austin FAN) and I’ve cooked an Italian dinner twice, Sri Lankan cuisine and Indian cuisine til the point my house smelt like curry, so I cleaned it AGAIN til it smelt like the car. That has been my busy, work-obsessed week. Why did I do all this? – you ask. Well it’s simple: the parents are staying the week from Monday. Otherwise my house wouldn’t be cleaned til the end of the month ( it really depends. My nature is comprised of such passion of something I usually go out of my comfort zone in a dash). OK - I just realized I’m going WAY off track. Well, all I’m saying is that the perfect way to end a busy 4 days is an episode of the wonderful and ever-so-great… Vampire Diaries.
The sight of Paul Wesley is my therapy (aka wesleyfication). I wanna get wesleyficated. I wanna dream of those ABs and those teeth penetrating my neck and the seductive voice that makes you wish you had chocolate with you. It’s time for Vampire Diaries. And, as a massive fan, I am going to watch it, no matter what excuse my roomate makes whenever she sees me watching MY tv that she could never afford with the meagre pay packet she gets every year.
Bonnie Bennett – Katerina Graham
Apart from our very sexy Paul, I’ve been doing some keen research on his co-star Katerina Graham
… and apart from acting so well, having appeared in hit tv shows like Malcolm in the Middle, Movie Surfers and acted in The Parent Trap and Chicago Pulanski Jones, Katerina Graham has been the light of the beacon, guiding those around her. She’s an awesome person who indulges in the odd cheesecake and dines in fine wine and loves randomly dancing to tunes. A singer, songwriter AND an actress, this wonderful starlet has turned in to what I had predicted all along – a diva.
So I was going through magazines ( Vogue in particular ) and I stumbled upon some fashion tips. We all want to look like the Vampire Diaries Stars in some way or another, right? Well have I got the best tips for fashionistas and fanarinas alike! Check it out!
Fashionista at work: How to achieve the Katerina Graham Look
Here Katerina works the sleek look, which accentuates her eyes and cheekbones. If you’re afraid of looking too harsh, try a more textured, tousled bun but leaving a few pieces of hair out would look perfect as well, so as to make the face look soft. It highlights the beauty of the eyes. So how does KG make her face look brilliant? It’s EASY and YOU can do it too!
1. A skin primer or moisturizer is imperative to ensure a well-hydrated face. You can use the combination of both, depending on how your skin feels.
2. Use a sheer, lightweight foundation to cover uneven skin tone and create a natural finish. You can add an illuminiser to create a glow.
3. Cover blemishes with concealer, especially any areas around and on top of the eye. Lightly dust your T-zone with a translucent powder to avoid shine.
4. Curl lashes and apply the first coat of mascara, concentrating the application at the base of the lashes. Groom brows and apply a clear mascara to set them in place.
5. Sweep a nude shadow over the entire eye. To add some depth, wash a taupe shadow through the socket. Define the upper and lower lash lines with a taupe eye pencil, blending it into the lash line to create soft, smoky definition.
6. Apply another coat of mascara to the top lashes and a lighter coat to the bottom ones.
7 . Warm the cheeks with a pink- or peach-toned blush
8. Coat the lips with a clear gloss that allows your natural lip color to shine through
Over time, I’ll continue to blog something more special every time. If you have ideas or thoughts that you’d like to share with me, feel free to contact me. Oh and be sure to follow me on twitter .
Keep sending the wonderful comments and feedback – it is of tres importance. If you have questions to ask me, my formspring page is here . And be sure to sign our petition as well!
Have a great week P-Dubbers~

Hey there P-Dubbers!
Okay, so I’m in a gleeful state thanks to Sharie and Melinda who fixed my problem in trying to access this very fine page of ours. So now that I’m writing a fun and lovely post dedicated to P-Dubbers across the world, the only thing I have to say is… UNITE.

UPDATE: The petition to interview a Vampire Diaries star is STILL going. We’ve sent the official information to our stars on the Vampire Diaries and have provided them a link for them to see how many dedicated fans there are that want to see a fan-based interview.
And this is really good, seeing as how every magazine publishing company lure celebrities to do an interview with money or to give to advertise their projects (trust me, I’ve worked for quite a few of them). This interview is one that will be conducted by the paulwesleyfans.com team with questions asked from dedicated fans like you. I wish I could give you wonderful people more information, but sadly, that is the life of journalism.
UPDATE: PRIYA’S COMING DOWN UNDER!!
I’ll be jet-setting down to Sydney, Australia a few weeks before Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder reach the antipodes. And we’re going to be planning a wonderful book dedicated to Paul and Ian on their lives. Have you guys watched A show called ‘This is Your Life’? Well when I was in Australia earlier in 2000, this show was all the hype. It’s basically a nostalgic experience through videos from loved ones. Obviously, we can’t do that for Ian and Paul. But what we CAN do is design a book on their acting life with Paul’s debuts in Fallen, Everwood, the OC and so on. When I interviewed Paul many years agoo (2006 to be exact) we were talking about a fan site dedicated to him and he commented on how far he’s come from a little boy attending acting classes to a man who stars in shows watched by an excess of a million people (scroll down a little further to my Teenmag article and you’ll see). So we’ve teamed up with our very own Erin Brown (aka @speedmouse on twitter) to give these books to our favorite, sexy vampire-brothers.
Stay tuned for more as I’ll be regularly providing more details of our interviews with the Vampire Diaries Stars and the Handing-of-the-Book to Paul and Ian. If you have any questions or ideas on our projects, feel free to tweet me on my twitter or email us at paulwesleyfans@gmail.com
Until next time,
Priya xo

Getting to Know Paul Wesley!
This is an article that has been brought to our attention about Paul’s days on “Fallen”, the ABC minseries.
Courtesy of TeenMag.com
Thanks to P.K. Jayatillake
Please do not re-post entire article please link back. Thank You!
Paul Wesley doesn’t just look like an angel, he plays one on TV! In ABC Family Channel’s new flick “Fallen” (which premiered Sunday, July 23), Paul stars as Aaron Corbett, a teen orphan who learns that he’s actually an angel, but not the sweet, fluttery stereotype you think of when you hear the word. Aaron already feels like an outcast, so when he has to deal with his newfound powers, his life spirals out of control. We recently chatted with Paul in Los Angeles about this extraordinary role and have shared his thoughts with us!
TEENMAG: What was the best part of playing Aaron in Fallen?
Paul Wesley: I enjoy the fact that he’s a social outcast and I really like the fact that we don’t know much about his past. He’s never met his parents. There are so many interesting things to that. I thought it gave me a lot of range to play with. In the script it doesn’t really tell you much about what happened to Aaron when he was in orphanages and stuff like that, it gave me the opportunity to make up my own stuff and create my own history for him. I really dug that. It’s a really cool way of interacting with your character.
TEENMAG: Can you relate to feeling like an outcast?
Paul Wesley: I went to this private, all boys Catholic school and I got kicked out of there because I didn’t jive well with them. Then I went to a public high school and I didn’t really jive there either. So then I went to another school and then I graduated. So I never really got to establish my clique. There were always so many cliques and I never really felt into a group which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I actually recommend it.
TEENMAG: If you didn’t identify with one particular group in high school, how did you make it through those years?
Paul Wesley.: I had a lot of extracurricular activities and I had one girlfriend that I consistently dated throughout high school. So that was always good. I was acting. I started acting junior year so I was actually out of school a lot. That was my problem, too, that I wasn’t there that often because I was doing the soap opera Guiding Light. Also, I was really into ice hockey. And I studied a lot; I got good grades. I also have strong family values – I’m very close with my parents.
TEENMAG: What do they think about your career?
Paul Wesley: They’ve been phenomenal supporters since day one. I went to college for a semester. They consistently preached, “You’ve gotta get good grades. You’ve gotta go to a good school.” When I made the decision to drop out of college to pursue acting I had already been moderately successful doing the soap opera. Instead of being hesitant they said, “Do it,” which was really cool. I respect that.
TEENMAG: Were you familiar with the books the movie is based on?
Paul Wesley: I wasn’t familiar with the books but to be honest with you I’m not that familiar with that kind of genre. I don’t know anything about comic books. I’ve never seen a Star Wars in my life. I’m literally clueless to that genre. Not that this is like Star Wars, but that whole sci-fi thing. The thing I like about this is that I think its less sci-fi and more mythology. Its more historical, its biblical in a way. But I wasn’t familiar with it at all.
TEENMAG: What’s the worst date you’ve ever been on?
Paul Wesley: I haven’t gone on many dates to be honest with you.
TEENMAG: That’s pretty shocking…Well, then, what’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for a girl?
Paul Wesley: When I was courting my first girlfriend, I was about 14 years old, and I sent a five-foot teddy bear to her house. It was so huge. But I had the wrong address and it was this whole mix-up. I wanted it to be this big surprise and they ended up calling her and saying, “We’re trying to deliver this teddy bear and we don’t know where it is.” It was so embarrassing but she thought it was the most romantic thing ever because I was only 14 and what 14 year old does that?
TEENMAG: Do you have a twitter account?
Paul Wesley: No I don’t. But I’ve heard there are many accounts under my name, which is really annoying. Maybe some day I will get twitter. But not yet.
TEENMAG: Favorite food?
Paul Wesley: Haha. I don’t really mind whatever there is to eat. I’m a little bit of a sushi maniac, though.
TEENMAG: Do you believe in love at first sight?
Paul Wesley: Oh. Wow. I really don’t know. Like, people will meet and swear later on that once they “saw eachother” it was immediately known to them that they’d be partners together. To be honest, I’m not a real believer of love at first sight. It’s more lust, isn’t it?
TEENMAG: Agreed. Do you search yourself up on Google/Youtube?
Paul Wesley: There has been the odd occasion where I have searched myself up, like Wikipedia and sites like that. I don’t usually do it, mainly for the sake I’m too busy to go and search myself up.
TEENMAG: What country would you really like to visit one day?
Paul Wesley: Australia. It’s just such a remote country and I’ve been told that the people there are so friendly and open and honest. Oh and the beaches … Gosh I love going to beaches.
TEENMAG: Will we be seeing you at the Oscars/Emmy’s one day?
Paul Wesley: Oh I hope so, haha. Some day. Be sure to write an article about that! (chuckling to himself)
Paul Wesley is an amazing actor, not only one who has got the most amazing looks, rivaled to our very own Brad Pitt and George Clooney, but also an “open, honest” and caring man who doesn’t mind having a laugh now and then. An uprising star, be sure to watch Paul Wesley on Fallen. Who knows, maybe some day we WILL see him at the Oscars. I’m rooting for you, Paul.
The interviewer, P.R.Jayatillake, will also be interviewing Sean Faris. She would like input on questions for her interview. Please feel free to contact her with your questions at formspring.me/priyajk or through Twitter @Priya_JK
“Sex, love and vampires: Faris gets down and dirty.”
Priya Jayatillake talks one-on-one with Sean Faris, who played the role of Ben in several episodes of Vampire Diaries.
Please link back to this article if you choose to post part of interview on your site. Thank You!
The love of Vampires is besieging the world that was once ridiculed for its vivid imagination; of aliens and creatures and behaviors that no one in real life would give a second-thought about. To be honest, I’m not a real twilight-fanatic but meeting this hunk of steel, Sean Faris, from the CW’s sleeper-hit series The Vampire Diaries, my thoughts have since changed. – All for the better.
Faris plays the role of Ben McKittrick, a football-star-turned bartender who works at the local Mystic Grill in Mystic Falls. Behind his human appearance, deep down lies a ruthless vampire who, with undercover girlfriend, Anna (played by Malese Jow) takes on the mortal town of Mystic Falls. Talking personally about the nitty-gritty of the life of an actor, sex, love and vampires, Faris gets down and dirty:
Are you a fan of vampire stories yourself?
Sort of, haha. I’m not one of those Vampire fanatics that chase after Twilight Books. But I do have this, I don’t know what you call it… infatuation with Vampires. So I do read stories of that genre – just not all the time.
How does your role in the VD differ from the other roles that you’ve had before?
Trying to portray yourself as a blood-sucking vampire is really difficult. I know it looks simple on television. But it’s really hard. The first few days after reading the script were really spent on personal research and lots of sessions with my mentor and acting out in front of the mirror whenever I had the chance. My role was different in the way that I had to create two different personas, something that I still find difficult to produce.
Do you have any funny stories about shooting the VD episodes?
We’re a pretty serious bunch. But re-take some scenes up to 4 or 5 times. And Atlanta may be a great place to shoot, but working in Atlanta’s cold climate takes its toll. During the day and night, the temperature dipped a lot and most of us were shivering while trying to speak coherently.
You were number 38 on Elle Magazine’s 50 Sexiest Guys. How do you feel about this raised status and being considered a sex symbol?
I’m still the same person my parents raised and my brothers and sisters grew up with. I’m beyond flattered to even be called sexy. In fact, I think it’s great! But I’m still Sean, and at the end of the day, that’s what matters, right?
True. What was your most memorable part of working with the VD Cast?
They’re the nicest bunch of people, you’ll ever meet. I mean Marcos (Siega) and Kevin (Williamson) and Julie (Plec) run a pretty tight schedule. But everyone’s co ordinated and they know their responsibilities. At the end of the day of shooting (which is usually early in the morning), we just head out to the local café and talk with eachother… we pretty much have heaps of fun together. Nina (Dobrev) and Zach (Roerig) and the rest are so supportive. Just arriving on the first day, everyone welcomed me in. The feeling was just so surreal.
Vampire-related shows seem to circle around erotic sex and love. What’s your input in this?
No sex scenes for me, haha. It’d be good, wouldn’t it? But I’ve only appeared for the 3 episodes. I think the whole sex and vampire thing really get the ignition started, no pun intended. It’s really just appealing to see a mere mortal engaging in activity with a vampire. The whole mysterious and sexy kind of vampire really tugs on people’s hearstrings….come on, if I was a girl and saw a sexy, mysterious guy, it’s agreed that the sex would be expected to be great.
There’s a wide network of Fans, particularly in Twitter and Facebook. Do you have a twitter account?
As of now, I don’t. But it’s just amazing to hear that I have so many fans dedicating their passion for me on twitter and facebook. Maybe one day I will get Twitter, but right now it’s one of those tasks written on the last page of my diary. I’d like to also thank my fans and how they’ve supported me throughout my journey in acting. It’s amazing to have so much support and I love my fans to the bottom of my heart. Hopefully soon, I’ll be able to interact with them more often.
One thing you won’t leave home without?
My pants.
Sean Faris is a truly remarkable man who loves the Vampire stories, works well with his friends and is a truly passionate actor climbing up the ladder to fame. Be sure to follow this down-to-earth man as he appears in the Vampire Diaries and in his own film The Glass Eye – I know I will.
Priya_Jk will be able to answer questions about Paul and Sean from having met them with everyone through my site on formspring and twitter.
Thanks to shineonmedia for providing photos of Sean Faris.
