Last nights episode might be one of my favorites, excluding certain scenes with certain people I did not like. But of course, other than that, not too shabby. I enjoyed it and I was SO nervous throughout most of the episode. I was also very emotional. It was like that time of month for me but in an episode. This show is definitely NOT good for my health. I may need therapy soon enough if this nonsense continues.
I’m so glad Matt Davis is getting some more screen time with this storyline. He’s a great actor and he’s got a pretty face so more screen time wouldn’t hurt. Matt’s really great at playing Klaus like this but the writers bringing Klaus in like this takes away from the badass-ness a bit, my opinion. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s very BAMF like to be possessing someone else to try and get information and get inside their little “Save Elena and kill Klaus” operation. But at the same time, the way they introduced him like this, seems to take some of that BAMF-ness away. But they make up for it when he’s compelling Katherine to repeatedly stab herself and does some other nonsense later on. Also, I’m happy that he said he wouldn’t kill Katherine soon. That means she’ll stay around longer.

I wish I had some hot vampire “friends” to give me such a cool house. Elena’s life can be nice sometimes. I love how Elena has to invite these fools back into their own house though. I would have kept Damon outside for a few days. After some of the nonsense he’s done to her, it’s the least horrible thing she can do to him, considering how nice Elena is to that fool. And that awkward moment were they haven’t gone to school in months and Stefan, being forever a teenager, forgets what that even means. “We are going to school.” “Huh?”. Bonnie makes a pretty good point though, who does clean the Salvatore brooding house? Hmm.
Matt and the Sheriff are still in cahoots? Oh lawd. Matty come one boy! Get over the vampire nonsense and continue to have sexytime with Caroline again! Other than this, Matt has somewhat of a purpose on the show besides busing tables at the Mystic Grill. But I greatly dislike how Sheriff Forbes was so quick to turn around on her own daughter and have Matt “spy” on her.
Oh this should be funny. Klaus trying to teach a history class, in Alaric’s body, while the girl who he wants to eventually sacrifice is sitting four desks away. No big deal. I love how Elena pulled an Aria (Pretty Little Liars reference, I am involved in multiple shows guys.
) but hers was a bit more subtle. Even though, right now, it’s not Ric, it’s really Klaus but ya know, it’s cool.
OH LOOK. IT’S NOT NOW DANA THOUGH. She’s been having more lines than Matt has had all season. Oh, but the Matt and Caroline cuteness is great. See how adorable they are when it seems everything is all rainbows and unicorns? Get your head together Matty!

And Bonnie and Jeremy cuteness! I love how concerned he is for Bonnie’s life. She’s been the best girlfriend hes had the whole series. I don’t know what I would do with this show if they killed her off. YAY MORE DANA. At first I thought, “Wait, he’s in Alaric’s body though. Why would she say he’s ‘totally hot’ if he’s her history teacher?” Then, after hearing what Bonnie said, I thought, “OH, this fool compelled her. He’s good, but corny.” It wasn’t much of a scary moment, but more like a “oh snap” type of thing. It just adds a bit of a twist really.
But he’s a vampire! How does he just walk into the Salvatore house without being invited in? Seems like he can still use his vampire powers to compel people and such, but vampire rules like being invited in a home doesn’t count in a human body. That’s interesting. Bonnie should throw Damon around some more though! And Stefan’s “I’m impressed” face is awesome. So is Elena’s. But if she has SO much power from these hundred dead witches, could she not sense that it’s not really Alaric in that body? Bonnie’s a bad witch sometimes.
Ew, Katherine’s leg is disturbing. It was semi funny at first when he compelled her but now it just seems wrong. But I love that Klaus calls Bonnie “witch bitch”. He made a funny!
These plans! I do not like! Don’t hurt Bonnie! This is why I started to get nervous and worried for everyone.
Caroline as “Jackie O”! And Matt as JFK. Sheriff, how can you even contemplate staking your own daughter when she’s this adorable. It’s impossible! And Matt looks great in that suit. You go, Zach Roerig.

Such an adorable scene with Stefan and Elena. But I still don’t understand why Elena doesn’t just stay at home and cuddle with Stefan instead of actually going the dance. This would have prevented a lot of nonsense that happened from actually happening though. I know if it were me, I’d choose the cuddling and whatnot and leave the near death part for Damon or someone else Klaus would want to kill that night.
Klaus dancing! Matt Davis dancing! I’ve died and gone to heaven! This should happen more often.
The first thing that actually came to my mind when Jeremy wanted to give Bonnie his ring was “AW, that’s adorable but idiot that doesn’t work on her!” He should really give that thing to Elena though. She needs it more than her does at this point. “You know I don’t have the best luck in the girlfriend department.” Oh Jeremy, I’m glad you realize this. The writers should keep that in mind and not kill her off. I have a feeling that if she goes, so does Jeremy because I doubt he would be able to handle a third girlfriend dying. And I think I mentioned this in my previous recap too.

This seems to be like a child’s play version of foreplay Klaus is playing. A song dedication? Really? That’s not “OH GOD” scary. That’s just like “You’re a creep” scary. If you really think about that though, he’s a what, thousand year old vampire, and she’s 17 years old. Klaus, control yourself boy.
At least I finally agree with something Damon says! Klaus doesn’t seem to pleased that he wasn’t impressed by a song dedication.
But I dislike how Stefan just threw Elena into Damon for a dance. The Stefan and Elena dance was definitely not long enough. I did laugh at Damon’s description from last years Decade Dance.

More dancing, while Matt tries to keep it together and maybe find some evil in Caroline but he obviously can’t because she’s amazing. And Stefan interrupts. These scenes don’t have much to comment on.
Damon seems to be cutting into everyone’s dances. The Bonnie and Damon dance lasted longer than all the other ones. This episode is really about Bonnie and Elena’s friendship though. She’d lay everything on the line for Elena and she would do the same for Bonnie. I love their friendship, it’s so genuine.
I want Stefan to have a bromance! Damon has one with Alaric, why not Stefan? And why not with Jeremy. Stefan obviously cares enough to listen to the boy and not threaten him, he even threw himself into that damn tomb with Katherine to save him. He listens. They really should have a bromance. Stefan had one really close friend and that fool killed her. He should have some kind of bromance. And I hope they do that soon, or next season.
Matty and Care! Damon. You can’t take him anywhere.
“If the situation was reversed, would you do it for me?” You can’t really argue with that line. It always works. Bonnie made a good point. And I’m about to tear up a bit. Nina makes me cry, ok guys.
MY BOY. JEREMY. Klaus is a douche, though. This nonsense of a distraction. “Let me guess, Klaus says hi.” Four for you, Damon! You go, Damon! It’s about time he understands. Oh, but that cynical look on Alaric/Klaus’ face.

This hallway scene has to be the first time that I have been even remotely scared of Klaus. Alaric doesn’t even seem like Alaric. His mannerisms completely 180. It’s like he’s a different person here. And Matt Davis sells it perfectly. I’m also worried Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson might have kill him off too.
“No. Klaus does not get to win tonight. No way. You still willing to do whatever it takes to kill Klaus?” I’m suspicious. Damon might have a plan and his plans usually end up going horribly wrong. Check out the eyebrow action though. It furrows. I guess Stefan isn’t the only one.
All I thought about when Caroline asked Elena what was wrong was “What’s Matt thinking about?” He must be confused and probably thinks there might be some secret vampire society stuff happening.
Bonnie looks so badass right now, strutting her stuff down that hallway to take on the oldest vampire in the world. You go girl! I’m still worried though! That bone crunching is disturbingly real, but Bonnie is still so badass. And Matt is still great. I have to say, throughout all of this, I was on the edge of my seat. “It’s what Alaric would want. He would want you to suffer first.” Why the nose bleed if you have the power of 100 witches? I don’t even know what to say. I’m so concerned for what happens next. And of course Stefan and Elena show up but Damon being Damon holds them off for 2 minutes. This scene is so epic. It’s like the taste sample of what is to come when the real fight with Klaus happens. So, everything from here on, I’m just bawling, in tears. It’s such a beautiful scene but I never really noticed that since I was too worried about Bonnie laying dead on the ground and Nina’s tears and cries just breaking my heart. She’s such an amazing actress. She needs to win an award for her work on this show before I have a fit and eventually chop everyone with a chainsaw who thinks otherwise. “What about Jeremy?” Really, though?! They’re trying to break me into pieces! At this point, I feel like Bonnie was also my best friend and I just lost her too. But I like that Damon closed Bonnie’s eyes, which is usually a sign of respect when someones dies, if I’m not mistaken here. Also, I’m sending Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson my medical bill for the damage this show does to my health. And possibly the therapy bill I would eventually need as well.

“Damon! Damon, I got your message and I can’t find anyone. Where’s Elena and where’s Bonnie?” MY HEART CAN’T TAKE IT. If I ever need a good cry and I feel like watching The Vampire Diaries, this will be the episode I will come find.
Why is that in all these movies and tv shows, everyone tries to comfort others with something to drink? I don’t get it. If anyone ever did that to me, I would throw that drink right back in their face. But if it was Stefan, I’d make an exception, of course. Nina start breaking down again! And so do I! Even watching it again, it makes me start bawling. ELENA SLAPS DAMON. DO IT AGAIN. REWINDING THOUGH. He deserved that for so many things though. THANK THE LORD BONNIE IS ALIVE. Oh god, I was about to start spazzing and convulsing if it ended with Bonnie really dead. I just wish Damon would have walked through the door yelling “SHE’S ALIVE. IT’S OK. BONNIE’S OK.” instead of that speech. Yes, I understand it was for dramatic purposes, hence dramatic background music, but I don’t see how necessary that was. He still deserved to be slapped. And Jeremy and Bonnie when she wakes up! Oh my god, the tears came back again! Tears of joy!
Ugh, this episode would have been part of my absolute favorites list, but these upcoming scenes with Damon just ruined it for me. “I don’t mind being the bad guy. I’ll even let her hate me for it. But at the end of the day, I’ll be the one to keep her alive.” Guys, I just threw up a bit in my mouth.
D’aww so adorable. Jeremy and his mifi, that is. And the Elena and Bonnie skyping. I can’t take anymore. Kat’s acting here kills me all over again. So genuine and real. Their friendship and everything. I don’t even know what to say anymore. I really don’t.
This scene also ruined it for me. “If it comes down to you and the witch again, I will gladly let Bonnie die. I will always choose you.” BARF. I actually threw up this time. Way to try and win her over boy. You’re doing one hell of a job saying you wouldn’t care if her best friend dies if it means keeping Elena alive. If I were Elena, that line would deserve another slap. There was nothing romantic about that line. That was selfish. Therefore, you’re tacky and I hate you. (I make movie references a lot in this recap).

OH MY GOD. SHE’S RESURRECTING ELIJAH THOUGH. ELENA. YOU SMART GIRL.
Ok, so, MVP obviously goes to Katerina Graham and Nina Dobrev. I haven’t cried that much possibly since Paul Wesley made me cry watching the Stefan and Elena break up scene in 2×06. Kat’s scene with “Klaus” where she “died” had my heart beating so fast and Nina’s crying was phenomenal. This show isn’t afraid to “go there” with anything. Nina isn’t afraid to do the whole ugly crying scenes and Katerina basically had a spazz attack before supposedly dying. I can’t begin to describe the awesomeness of all this cast and crew. I can only imagine what these people have in store for us in the next few episodes, and especially the finale.
Next week, we finally get to meet Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan. We get more flashbacks too! A look back at the Klaus/Elijah/Katherine relationship in the 1400s. I can’t wait for Thursdays to come back around. Let’s hope the flashback Klaus is more badass than the Alaric, Klaus.

Yes, the gif was necessary because Stefan’s facial expression was priceless. ;D
